Total comes from nearly 600 trade and professional groups that file disclosure forms with Congress Related content A list of groups reporting lobbying costs of at least $1 million in 2015 The American Public Transportation Association went into top gear last year as Congress debated a new highway and transit bill and other critical issues. The association more than doubled its lobbying-related expenses, from $1.5 million in 2014 to $3.2 million. The National Retail Federation also doubled lobbying spending, going from $3.3 million to $6.5 million as it advocated on trade and taxes, among other things.
